Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m. food writer and former Louisvillian Ronni Lundy will be joined by Paul Fehribach, chef at Big Jones in Chicago, for a special Southern cuisine-themed dinner at The English Grill at the Brown Hotel, 335 W. Broadway.

The 5-course dinner prepared by Brown Hotel executive chef Josh Bettis and his kitchen team will feature Southern and Appalachian cuisine, the foods celebrated by Fehribach’s new cookbook “The Big Jones Cookbook,” and by Lundy’s “Sorghum’s Savor.”

The Southern Author Dinner menu, which will be paired with eclectic wine choices, will include pickled summer vegetables and cheese straws, Southern fried chicken with sweet potato hash, crispy catfish à la Big Jones with grits and greens, sweet tea-brined pork loin with summer corn succotash, and sorghum and bourbon pecan pie for dessert.
